“ The barbecue I remember from growing up in NC! We are their food 3 times in the week we were in Ashe County. It was delicious everytime. Their pork BBQ is perfectly traditional. Hush puppies and fried okra are delicious too. We didn't have anything we didn't like. They are drive through only but they have their system down because it didn't take us long at all to get our food - and it was hot and fresh! The employees were hard working and friendly. They do allow you to eat on the porch which is a nice offering too. ”

“ We have been going here for years, mostly for their fish and bbq. Although we miss sitting inside, take-out has been fine. They are always friendly and helpful. We used to get their fried chicken, but we think the recipe changed and now it's more skin than meat. The vegetables are good, especially the cabbage when they have it, which is rarely. Ribs are good, too. It's comfort food; nothing fancy. ”

We had BBQ, chicken, bake beans, sweet potato casserole, pecan pie and coconut meringue pie. All of the food was very good. They are only open at the drive-thru and line can get long. Also, it is cash only. Smoky Mountain Barbecue is definitely worth trying. ”

You name it out of those and they've probably got it. Lunch room style eating, where there are about 20 people in the kitchen before you cranking out some of the best southern food in town. It's a staples in the small town of West Jefferson and I couldn't say anything bad!! ”
